Comments: Shawn Jordan, Peichi Cheng, and Molly and Amanda Moore are four 11-year old girls who take cooking classes and love to cook. They cook "relief food" for neighbors, who had a fire in their kitchen and, after seeing how much fun it is, form a cooking club. Their club turns into a business called Dish and takes off all on its own. Suddenly, the girls can hardly keep up with their customers! After school starts and the Chef Girls become involved in different things, they don't have much time for Dish.
In Boiling Point, Shawn's dad goes on a business trip to New Zealand and Australia so Shawn moves down to South Carolina for a month, Natasha becomes a friend of the Dish group, Molly and Peichi take a forbidden subway trip to Chinatown, Peichi finds a smuggled Ching Dynasty pendant, and the Dish company doesn't get paid for a job and has to resort to a very official-looking letter to get their money.
In the back of each book is a pullout recipe card, safety tips, and a few recipes from the chef girls. These books are great for 8- to 12-year-old budding chefs.
