Can Flour Be Substituted for Cake Meal?

A Passover cookie calls for 1 cup of matzo cake meal. How can I make this cookie using flour instead?

Needless to say, we're not going to comment on any perceived lack of religiosity – what are we, your mother?

Ground matzo meal is more dense than regular flour, so you need to up the ante, so to speak. Use one and a quarter cups of flour to replace one cup of finely ground matzo meal.

You might also like to try 1 cup of unsalted cracker crumbs, or one of the other potential substitutes for matzo meal.
