Q. Can you can give me some information about a microwave popcorn maker. We own one at the present time but it won't last much longer; it is well used and is just about used up. I was wondering if you could give me some information as to where I might find a new one? We bought this one several years ago and even then we had a difficult time finding it. We have since returned to that store and found that they don't carry it anymore.A. Well, the only one we can come up with is Presto's PowerPop Microwave Multi-Popper. Endorsed by Orville Redenbacher (Presto claims), it pops up to three quarts of popcorn with or without oil. Promotional information says it focuses microwave energy so effectively that virtually every kernel pops. The bowl and lid are dishwasher safe.
With the proliferation of pre-packaged microwave popcorn, Presto's little wonder tends to be a moving target — available at one store for a while and then turning up at another. Amazon.com has it.
