Q. I served a pot roast last weekend that ended up being very tough. Is there any way I can salvage the leftover meat to make it more tender?

A. Realistically no. Once it's cooked, matters are pretty much settled. Your best bets are to slice it paper thin for hot roast beef sandwiches or grind it up for hash or a casserole. Sorry for the bad news.
