Q. I am having houseguests for five days in April. I am wondering if my Corningware might crack if I prepare some of the casseroles ahead and then freeze them? Of course, I would let them cool to room temperature before placing in the freezer. Will this harm the Corningware?
A. Absolutely not one of Corningware’s claims to fame is its ability to go from freezer to oven without a hiccup. Indeed, World Kitchen, Inc., which makes Corningware, says it is "made of a remarkable material first developed for missile nose cones, [and therefore] able to withstand incredible temperature extremes."
We forget what its other claims to fame are.
