Q. What are nettles?

A.  Nettles, or stinging nettles, are a perennial herb eaten in many parts of the world. The leaves are long and pointy. Only the shoots and top of the plant are eaten.

Nettle soup is the most common preparation (and there are various European and Asian preparations), but they are also added raw to salads, or cooked as greens.
