Comments: There are about a zillion trivets on the market. This one is sleek, stylish, has a non-skid silicone bottom, silicone rings on top to keep your pots and pans from sliding off, and provides plenty of heat protection to your table, countertop, or antique Flemish credenza.

We are particularly smitten with the design, where the side that's a little bit scooped out can snuggle up to another Fissler Magic Pan Rest, and to another, and to another, etc., so that you can place a pan of any size on your buffet without worrying that it will tip off and ruin the finish. As with nearly everything from Germany in these days of the weak dollar, these trivets are not inexpensive, so you may have to buy multiples in installments. They would make lovely gifts (hint: tell the in-laws; tell the grandparents, or cleverly send them the link to this page…).
