More-Than-Meatloaf Gravy

1 tablespoon canola oil, Wesson®
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, Pillsbury®
1 can (14-ounce) beef broth, Swanson®
1/4 cup tomato sauce, Hunt's®
1 package (1.2-ounce) brown gravy mix, Knorr®)
Salt and pepper


In a medium frying pan over medium heat, warm oil. Add flour and stir to form a paste. Let paste cook until it is a deep golden brown, about 2 minutes. Whisk in broth, tomato sauce, and gravy mix. Simmer until sauce thickens slightly, about 5 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve over meatloaf, meatballs, beef, veal, potatoes, or rice.

Cooking time: 8 minutes
Yield: Makes 2 cups
