Seven Layer Dip
From Dish: Into the Mix, by Diane Muldrow

This dip is really easy to make and it tastes AWESOME!!! Dad always makes if for his Super Bowl party, but we like to eat it year round.

First, ask an adult if you can use the knives! An adult should be in the kitchen while you're making this.


1st Layer: 2 cups of refried beans (you can buy refried beans in a can or a mix)
2nd Layer: 1 cup sour cream
3rd Layer: 1 cup guacamole
4th Layer: 1 cup shredded cheese (we like a mixture of jack cheese and cheddar cheese, but you can use all jack cheese, all cheddar cheese, or even get fancy and use pepper jack cheese!)
5th Layer: 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
6th Layer: 1/2 cup sliced green onions
7th Layer: 1/2 cup sliced black olives


In a casserole dish or pie plate, put each ingredient in a separate layer. (We like to use a glass dish so you can see all the layers.) First, spread the refried beans all over the bottom of the dish. Then spread on the sour cream, followed by the guacamole. Sprinkle the cheese evenly on top of the guacamole. Then add the tomatoes, green onions, and finish up with the sliced black olives. The layers look so pretty!

Refrigerate the dip until you are ready to use it. (You can even make it the day before and chill it overnight.) Serve with tortilla chips and watch it disappear!
