Comments: Have we mentioned how often people ask for help keeping cooked foods warm on the drive to a friend’s or relative’s house, a pot-luck supper, or some other function? (Very often!)

Here is a great solution.

This large casserole can go from oven to table or, with the ceramic lid in place, carry and keep warm family-size servings of pot roast, casseroles, desserts, or other hot dishes. The lid features a removable, BPA-free silicone gasket that closes snugly to keep foods fresh and make them easy to transport. The lid eliminates the need for plastic wrap or foil, reducing waste.

A totally cool feature is that you can label your dish by writing directly on any of the glazed areas with a permanent marker, and while the ink won’t come off on your hands or other surfaces, it washes off easily in warm, soapy water.

You can also marinate, braise, or store food in the casserole, which is oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe.

The casseroles are available in various sizes and either red and or Chantal’s eco-friendly clay color, which is fired with a clear and natural glaze, free of coloring agents. The company says this process reduces the environmental impact of production by up to half.

We had a little trouble getting the lid seated at one point and an overzealous Ocheffer cracked it. It is ceramic, after all. Eventually everyone calmed down and we got the hang of closing it gently but securely. We recommend reaching this knowledge level before breaking it to pieces.
