Grill Charms™: The must have grilling accessory that is revolutionizing the American cook-out! Similar in concept to the wine charm these dime-sized solid stainless steel charms are placed in your food before grilling. The stems are serrated to hold securely while grilling, moving and flipping. The Spicy Collection consists of 6 charms with designs of peppers representing varying degrees of heat (Mild, Medium and Spicy) allowing you to now offer your guests a wide variety of spice options simply and easily. You can now have three different sauces on your chicken or pork all on one grill without concern for mixing them up. People that like their food spicy can now simply look for the spicy Grill Charm™. People who are more on the mild side don’t have to worry about getting the wrong favor. Then you’re finished, simply throw them in the dishwasher utensil basket for easy cleaning.

Comments: If you're a one-size-fits all kind of griller, then never mind. But if you find yourself grilling medium-rare and well-done, or extra-spicy and not-at-all-spicy, or if you must grill around health or allergy issues for some of your guests, Grill Charms are ideal.

Plunge these stainless-steel buttons (think cuff-links that don't bend) in any meats you're grilling to identify those you plan to make spicy, or extra-rare, or untainted by peanut sauce. There are little serrated edges to keep them from falling out when you flip the meat (you do have to use care taking them out, as they get hot, and you do have to remember to take them out before eating).

You can buy them individually, or in sets of six. The Spicy Collection has two marked not spicy, two spicy, and two fiery. The Steak Collection has two rare, two medium rare, one medium, and one medium well (on the theory that everyone can discern instantly which steaks are well done – they're the ones you leave on the grill till tomorrow (ba-dum-bump)). The Charmed Life Collection has a crown, a dollar sign, a martini glass, a sailboat, a four-leaf clover, and something we can't make out (perhaps an ocean liner). The Pink Collection has a ribbon, a chef's hat, a lady's hat, a lady's shoe, a champagne glass, and something that may be duck.

The challenge may be remembering what the ocean-liner-looking button is supposed to represent on your hot grill on a particular afternoon, so you may need a cheat sheet. It is also unlikely that you'll need exactly two spicy, two fiery, and two not-spicy buttons at the same time, but surely you can use some combination of any charms to delineate certain sections of your grill for certain attributes.

We consider these to be not inexpensive, but if they save you from sawing into every steak to check for degree of doneness, or if they prevent you from serving your milquetoast boss three-alarm chicken thighs, they will be well worth it. At the time of this writing, online pricing is all over the place, but that will surely stabilize.

Of course, once you've got the Grill Charms in place, it's still up to you to grill everything to perfection – but then, that's not going to be a problem for you!
