Mix corn meal, salt, and butter. Add the boiling water (water must be boiling). Stir the ingredients; wet your hands and shape mixture into pones or patties about biscuit size and 1/2-inch thick.

Fry in cooking oil until golden, turning once; remove and drain. Serve hot.
